Cooking. Baking. Whenever I start feeling stressed, or bored, or in the holiday/birthday spirit, I love going into the kitchen and making something delicious that others will enjoy. I get so much pleasure from seeing friends and family take a bite of whatever I made and say, "Mmmm..that's good." I'm happy that my food makes them happy.
This year, I took it easy on and decided not to do my usual holiday baking. Normally, I'm whipping up tons of cookies and other fun recipes so I can give them out as gifts. Instead, I chose to take a break so I could spend most of my time with my husband (he just got back from a 8 month deployment). I have, however, made all kinds of yummy dinners for him and I, so that's been fun. His requests: jambalaya, meatloaf, enchiladas, roast beef and shrimp po boys.....I've made them all. On tonight's menu: BBQ country style pork ribs and sausage with twice baked potatoes and green beans. I can't wait to try it out.
What makes YOU happy?
